Hello, World (Again)
So here we are. Another personal site. If you've been following along (you haven't, and that's fine), this is roughly the third or fourth iteration. I've gone through plain HTML, Semantic UI, whatever else I tried and abandoned, and now we're on Zola with a clean theme and a static site generator that doesn't make me want to throw my laptop out the window.
The plan this time? Actually write things down. I've spent years solving problems at work (migrations, scaling issues, infrastructure headaches) and the only record of any of it lives in my head and scattered Confluence pages that nobody will ever read again. That seems like a waste.
This site is split into two sections:
- Engineering: the technical stuff. Migration patterns, infrastructure decisions, things that went wrong in production. The real dirt.
- Blog: everything else. Opinions, quick fixes, the occasional rant about a tool that wronged me.
Will I actually keep this updated? History says no. But history also said I'd never finish migrating that WebLogic estate, and look at me now.
